ONEIC'S Financial Services for Utility
Consumers began its operations at the inception
of the company in 1978, at which time service
was provided all over the Sultanate of Oman with
the exception of Muscat and Dhofar.
Between 1978 and 1992, when the
last contract was handed over to the Ministry
of electricity & Water, ONEC successfully
completed billing contracts in the regions of
Batinah, Sharqia, Dakhlia, Dhahira, Musandam &
Masirah.
In 1997, ONEIC re-entered the field
by winning the Dhofar Electricity contract through
an open tender.

The department's exceptional performance
in providing financial utility services for the
Dhofar region has been greatly applauded by the
consumers, financial institutions and, above all,
by virtue of its innovative methods of dealing
with the consumer queries, collection, recording
and procession of bills.
The Department Offers:
- Fully computerized, state-of-art
billing system
- Full-time, dedicated and
fully equipped help desk facilities for solving
consumers' queries immediately
- Computerised duplicate
billing system
- Strong and dedicated recovery
teams
- Bar Code bills
- On-line, point of pay,
auto credit machnies at cas counters in Salalah,
a first in Oman for the benefit of Dhofar's
utility consumers
Going beyond the requirements of
the contract, ONEIC has established six additional
collection centers in remote areas of Dhofar at
Wadi Aara, (200 km from Salalah), Deemit (220
km), Keebot (260 km), Shaleem (375 km), Shawemia
(415 km) and Sherbatat (450 km).
These long distance centers solve
consumers' problems and attend to their queries
at their very doorstep.
Due to our excellent performance,
the Ministry of Housing, Electricity and Water
has awarded a contract for three years, for meter
reading, billing and collection of payments from
consumers of electricity and water in the regions
of Al Batna, Al Sharqia, al Dakhliya and Al Dahira/Masandam.
The Value of the contract is about RO 8.5 million.
The number of consumers is around 300,000.
Recognizing our excellent performance,
the Dhofar Power Company has awarded a contract
for meter reading, billing and collection of bills
for electricity consumers in Salalah for six years
starting from March 2003. The estimated value
for the contract is RO 4 million. |
